Tainted Love Soft Cell
This song is related to Romeo and Juliet because their love is tainted from the start. "This tainted love you've given. I give you all a boy could give you. Take my tears and that's not nearlyall. Oh...tainted love. Tainted love."I.iii. 53-94 source: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/
Check Yes Juliet by We The Kings
This song relates to Romeo and Juliet because it's about love and Juliet. It's also kind of about Romeo waiting for Juliet on the balcony which related because Romeo actually did that. II II. 66-69
"With loves light wings do I o'erperch these walls for stony limits cannot hold love out. And what dared love attempt, therefore thy kinsmen cannot are no stop to me." "Run baby run, don't ever look back. They will tear us apart if we give them a chance. Don't sell your heart. Together we'll be.. You and me."
"Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" Elton John
A couple of the sound that I really like
Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike
I'm a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass
This song relates because it's a pretty intense song that goes well with Tybalt and Mercutio's deaths. Also the words kind of relates because they draw their weapons and to me, it almost seemed like they didn't know they could kill someone, or didn't care because they were laughing and joking the whole time and that's kind of what I get from the lyrics.Plus, Mercutio was Romeo's best friend and he died so he sort of floated to the bottom of the glass. III.i. 88-90 "A plague a' both your houses! I am sped. Is he gone and hath nothing?"
"Where Ever You Will Go" The Calling
http://www.lyrics007.com/The%20Calling%20Lyrics/Wherever%20You%20Will%20Go%20Lyrics.html
This song demonstrates how Juliet loves Romeo with all o her heart and is willing to do anything for him. Even die. However, the song talks about running away together. That would never happen in "Romeo and Juliet" because Romeo is kind of an idiot and Juliet is no better.
IV. i.50-54 "Tell me not, friar, that thou hearest of this, unless thou tell me how to prevent it. If in thy wisdomcanst give no help, do thou but call my resolution wise and with this knife I'll help it presently."
"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" Death Cab for Cutie
Love of mine
Someday you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light
Or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
This song definitely relates to "Romeo and Juliet" because they both follow each other into death. Or you could say darkness. They also die holding hands and are clenching each other. V. i. 162-165 "Poison, I see hath been his timeless end. O churl! Drunk all, and left no friendly drop to help me after? I will kiss thy lips. Haply some poison yet doth hang on the, to make me die with a restorative."
