My Interview With Mr Bilbo Baggins.
Me: What was your favorite part about your journey?
Bilbo Baggins(B.B.): My favorite part about the trip as a whole is all of the adventures. You see, I had never been on any adventures before. I had barely even left my hobbit hole. I know throughout the story I complained about missing my home and wanting the comfort back, but I was just scared. I loved those moments.
Me: Out of all the dwarfs, who was your favorite?
B.B.: That's not really a fair question. I didn't have a favorite. I was especially close to Balin. I think somewhere along the trip we just had a bonding moment. We are close still, even to this day.
Me: What were your initial thoughts about the journey to get the treasure and leaving your home?
B.B: Me? A burglar? I hadn't ever stolen anything in my life! That was until the journey of course. I didn't want to leave my home! I was just a little guy and the world was so much bigger than I was! Why would I want to leave and lose all my respect? To this day, I don't know why I went. I don't think I ever will. Maybe it's the Took that's in me.
Me: You said you hadn't ever stolen anything until this trip. What did you steal?
B.B: I could show you better than I could tell you.
Me: What? Bilbo, where'd you go? Oh yes, the ring of Gollum. I heard rumors that you stole it.
B.B: (chuckling) Yes, yes. It was me. I stole the poor Gollum's ring. I also stole the Arkenstone, but I didn't have it for long. It was rightfully Thorin's but he has passed now. I will miss him greatly, my dear friend.
Me: How do you feel about Gandlf?
B.B: I look up to my friend greatly. He can be a pain the behind sometimes, but he is a great man. Except when he's disappearing to and fro. But I do love him and he is a fantastic man.
Well folks you heard it from the Faerie Gaztte first. Mr Bilbo Baggins loves his friends dearly, and is, in fact, a great burglar.

Fantastic Character Traits
Some creatures of fantasy appear more than once in different stories.
For example, trolls are always protraid as ugly gruesome animals. In both Harry Potter and The Hobbit trolls are huge and scary. They could kill you but they're not very smart or sneaky. Wizards are often saviors and the good guys but they can also be bad. In Harry Potter they main characters are good and in The Hobbit Gandalf is good, as well. Goblins are almost exactly the same. The only difference is in one movie (Harry Potter) they work in a bank and deal with riches but no one messes with them. In the other, they work in a cave and no one messes with them. In both stories, though, they seem to be evil and mean. Harry Potter and The Hobbit both stress the importance of a ring. One of Lord Voldemorts horecrux's is a ring that needed to be destroyed to reach their final goal. Bilbo's ring is something that they will need to accomplish their final goal of getting the treasure. Harry's invisibility cloak and Bilbo's invisibility ring are very important to both stories. The Sword of Gryfindor is very important as in Thorin's goblin killing sword.

Variations of "The Faithful Wife"
There are variations of this story from all over the world. None of them seem any newer or older than the others.
In Russia, the story is about a king and a queen instead of a knights daughter and a commoner. In this Russian version, the king leaves for battle and in the first version the husband leaves for building. They both had the importance of three though. In "The Faithful Wife" it's three men who come to ask for her hand, and in "The Lute Player" the king is gone for three years. In "The Lute Player" the queen cut off all of her hair and played a boy to save her husband. In "The Faithful Wife" the woman barely does anything to save her husband. She just remains faithful. In "The Lute Player" the wife goes to extraordinary lengths to stay faithful to her husband and not be lusted after by the heathen king of the other country. In "The Lute Player' the king accused his wife of being unfaithful. In "The Faithful Wife" the husband and wife both knew of each others faithfulness. There was a celebration at the end of both stories, but of course the king and queen's celebration was bigger. The queen also had to prove her faithfulness to her husband in "The Lute Player" and in "The Faitful Wife" the proof was written everywhere.
The story becomes recognizable to me when I related it to Time Traver's Wife.
They all teach the same lessons I think. It teaches you to be faithufl to your husband! I think everyone should be faithful though!!

Independent Novel
I just finished reading 13 Reasons Why.

http://www.aseaofquotes.com/post/31457446155/jay-asher-thirteen-reasons-why
This is a quote from Hannah Baker. I think it is the most touching quote from the book because it shows a side to her that hadn't been shown yet. That she was just a regular teenage girl. A good teenage girl who bad stuff had happened to.

http://rhalpin.edublogs.org/
This is a picture of Hannah's map. It's a map that shows her 13 reasons why. I thought this was the saddest part. That she had all this time to plan some elaborate suicide and no one thought she was in trouble.

I liked this picture a lot, because even though it didn't really come straight from the book I saw it's relevance. It's a blank name tag which immediately made me thinkg of Hannah. How she felt so invisible, like no one knew her.

http://pamelarivero13reasons.blogspot.com/
I thought this picture related pretty well because one of Hannah's reasons was a peeping tom. He took away her security of home.

http://pamelarivero13reasons.blogspot.com/
With all the shattered friendships in the book I thought this picture represented the book pretty well.

It's pretty obvious how this relates to the story. She sends everyone her story with cassetter tapes.

http://www.championofchoices.org/SuicidePrevention.html
This is obviously a cry for help. It relates to the story because everyone had so many signs they missed. A sudden change of appearance or giving away person possetions. No one saw her cries for help and that was all she wanted.

The slide where Hannah had her first kiss and her world fell apart.

I chose this picture because Hannah Baker's life is full of tough choices.

Asher, Goddess of Happiness Optimism and Wealth
b)Asher is the goddess happiness, optimism and wealth.
c) Her sacred animal is the golden retriever.
d) She doesn't fight because she is always happy with everything. She does, however, try try to make everyone happy.
e) She has brunette hair and golden eyes. She wears purples and blues to symbolise wealth. Asher always has a smile on her face and her hair is streaked with gold from the sun.
f) When, and if, Asher gets angered then she always tries to be very optimistic. If she does get extremely angry she just makes the people happy and optimistic about everything. It's not a punishment but 9 times out of 10, they stop annoying her.
g) Asher did fall in love once. It was the one time she had ever been heart broken and pessimistic. She was in love with Apollo. Asher loved the heat of the not-so-sun-god. Apollo was known to have lots of mistresses back then but Asher thought she could change him. When she found out he was still having affairs she wanted to find all the women he had been with. When she did she turned them into the only thing she could think of that was happy and still living, golden retrievers.

About Me:)
Hey! I'm Ashley Bryant! I'm fourteen years old and I am a freshman at Carbondale High School. I play basketball, volleyball, and softball. Started young... Five years old when I started basketball and softball. Besides sports, my social life reloves primarily around friends and family. I have a brother and a sister. My mom and I are close. Most of my friends play sports, like me, so during our seasons together we get really close, too. I love to read and listen to music. I am reading a book by Sarah Dessen, that I am falling in love with, currently. It's called Along for the Ride. It's kind of about high expectations from parents, and really just wanting to do your own thing. Sound fimilar? I thought so too.
My initilal thoughts about reading The Oddssey are that I've read it before at my junior high and I really liked it. I just hope we go into more detail with it.
